Common questions
- When is the best time to charter in Germany?
- On the Baltic the season typically runs from May to September. Many charter bases around Kiel and Flensburg offer both short and weekly trips.
- Do I need a licence to charter a boat?
- A skippered or crewed charter needs no licence because a professional skipper is on board. For a bareboat charter operators usually ask for sailing experience or a recognised boating licence, and the rules differ by country and boat size. Ask the operator what they require.
- How do I book, and who do I pay?
- Contact the company directly through its own website, or send a request through YachtRelay for yachts listed here. YachtRelay does not take payments or deposits: you agree the price and pay the operator under their contract.
